Creative Music Programs

CSS specialized in a unique and inspiring band program called, “Old Time Rock and Rollers!” In this 12-week program, residents will sing and play the music of the 50’s and 60’s and 70’s play in a small band format. This may be from just singing along, to actually playing an instrument and forming a “band.”

(Band members must have a working knowledge of their instrument.) Baby Boomers love rock and roll, and in this program, people will be active participants in the program, not just passive observers, an important new element in what Baby Boomers will want in this new era of senior living. And they can play and sing at whatever level the people are at, from beginners to amateurs, semi-professionals to professionals. It will culminate in a “gig,” a performance for residents, family and friends, and be an important internal marketing event which will promote tremendous good-will in your community.

Add-ons to this program include:

o Videos for your Community, to be distributed on social media

o Be the Senior Entertainment Hub of your Community, by broadcasting rehearsals and performances to the outside community, especially for those receiving home health care in their own homes. People will be watching the programming in your senior community! This will be an important marketing tool in cultivating new residents.

This is a chance for your residents to be in a real choir – with no prior experience necessary, only the desire to sing.

Most people living in assisted living and memory care communities end up being passive listeners and observers in most activities. In this unique program, CSS doesn’t just have the people in the community listen to the music, we help them become active participants. No matter what level of musical skill, from beginners to professionals, and no matter what level of physical or cognitive limitations people may have, CSS can get your residents performing in a choir that will fill their souls with love and music.

Songs will be based on their age and generations, with standard patriotic and spiritual songs that everyone knows, such as Amazing Grace, America the Beautiful, and old Rock and Roll songs like Johnny be Goode. The program is based on the documentary of CSS entitled “The Spirit of Caring,” and the award-winning music video produced by CSS entitled, “Don’t Define Me, Just Remind Me.”

This 12-week program will culminate in a performance for residents, staff, families and friends, which will promote tremendous good will in your community, but more importantly, be an important new element in your resident’s life.

Professional “Musical Theater” performances. These are one-man or full band professional performances, geared toward older audiences, with appropriate messages of living, loving and learning.

o “That’s Just the Way Life Goes.” A poignant and entertaining hour about the mysteries of love, loss and learning through melodic songs of all styes.

o “Four Special Women” – a personal journey of four special women in someone’s life, their sister, their mother, their daughter, their wife.
